File integrity

DataVault ensures the integrity of the files you deposit over their lifetime - it has the following features to prevent the corruption of your data:

• Every deposit is saved to three widely seperated locations.
• At the time of deposit, the individual files are checksummed on their way into the archive and then compared against the originals.
• DataVault stores the checksums so they can be checked on retrieval.
•  Should a checksum comparison reveal any corruption in part of the data, it will be restored from one of the other two backups.
