Submit a Proposal

You will be asked to supply the following information as part of the book proposal form process:

About You & About the Primary Contact

• Your name and email.
• Your main role at the university.
• Which college or services group you are based within.
• Which school or directorate you are based within.

About the Book

• The title of your book.
• Whether it is a new or existing title.
• The type of book you are submitting (e.g. an edited collection, monograph, report, textbook or misc. project).
• Whether the book is part of a series.
• The subject areas of your book.
• A blurb that summarises the book (150-300 words).
• The language(s) your book will publish in.
• Your target readership (e.g. academics, general public, practitioners, researchers etc).
• Any funding information.

About the Editorial Team

• Who has worked on your book (e.g. academics, professional staff, postgraduates etc).
• A list of the names and affiliations and roles of all involved, including authors, editors, designers, translators etc.

Your Book Files

• An upload of your finalised book or a sample chapter if you haven't finished yet.

Other Comments

• Why you want to publish with Edinburgh Diamond.
• A comment box for anything else you'd like us to consider.

Terms of Service

• Confirmation that you've read and accept the Terms of Service, should your publication be accepted for publication with Edinburgh Diamond.

About the Journal

• The title of your journal.
• Whether it is a new or existing title.
• The subject areas of your journal.
• The aims and scope of the journal.
• The types of content that will be published in your journal (e.g. book reviews, case studies, research articles, think pieces etc)
• The peer review process you will use (e.g. double anonymous, single anonymous, open).
• Whether the journal will publish complete issues at fixed times or follow a rolling publication model where articles are published as they are ready.
• How frequently journal issues will publish.
• How many articles you roughly expect to publish each year.
• Which language(s) the journal will publish in.
• Your target readership (e.g. academics, general public, practitioners, researchers etc).
• Any funding information.

About the Editorial Team

• Who has worked on your journal (e.g. academics, professional staff, postgraduates etc).
• A list of the names, affiliations and roles of anyone on the editorial team (if one is in place).
• A list of the names, affiliations and roles of anyone on the editorial/advisory board (if one is in place).

Student-led Journals

Student-led journals will also need to provide:

• The name of the course or society the journal is affiliated with.
• The name of the journals academic sponsor.
