Reformation tracts. In 1845 the University purchased some 1,000 early tracts relating to the Reformation from the library of Augustus Frederick, Duke of Sussex (1773-1843), sixth son of King George III. These greatly strengthen the Library’s holdings of works by Luther and other 16th century German reformers. The books all appear on the pre-1985 Guardbook catalogue, with shelfmarks starting Dh.
