About the University Collections Facility

The University Collections Facility (UCF) is the University’s off-campus storage facility, housing a wide range of general and research collections.

Material can be requested and delivered to the Main Library or a site library. Arrangements to visit the UCF can also be made.

General Collections

Material held in the University Collections Facility includes:

Monographs

Journals
Reference maps and atlases
Newspaper indexes and microfilm

All students and staff can request items from the University Collections Facility to support their learning, teaching and research.

Heritage Collections, including the Lothian Health Services Archive

Selected material from the Library’s Heritage Collections and the Lothian Health Services Archive (LHSA) is stored in the UCF, in environmentally controlled conditions.
