Heritage Collections

Welcome to Heritage Collections at the University of Edinburgh. We are custodians of the University’s cultural heritage. We preserve, provide access to, and interpret the University’s diverse and unique collections and actively collect and document heritage past, present and future. We are open to all, and are committed to providing inclusive, accessible and welcoming services.

Our collections span thousands of years and are diverse in content and format, from rare books and archives to oral histories, geological and anatomical collections, musical instruments, and contemporary artworks.  

Our services are tailored to individual user needs. We welcome all requests to access our collections, for personal, community, or professional purposes, and will work with you to find the service best suited to your needs.

Our teams comprise experts in a number of professional disciplines, including archiving, librarianship, conservation, engagement and customer service.
