Eligibility

Find out if you're eligible to partner with Edinburgh Diamond for your book or journal.

We publish books and journals (including conference proceedings journals). To partner with Edinburgh Diamond for your publication, the main editor or author must be affiliated with the University of Edinburgh, whether by being an academic, professional staff, researcher, or student. Other editorial team members, board members, peer reviewers and authors can be based at any institution globally. We accept, and encourage, works that are co-edited or co-authored with people from other institutions globally.

Read on for information specific to each proposal type. If you have any questions, reach out to us at edinburgh.diamond@ed.ac.uk.

What we publish

We publish edited collections, monographs, reports, textbooks and miscellaneous projects that result from funded research.

Who can submit

Academics, professional staff and researchers. We do not accept book proposals from students unless the work is a result of funded research.

What we publish

Peer-reviewed journals in any subject or discipline.  We accept traditional journals (that, for example, publish research articles, editorials, book reviews etc), as well as those that publish registered reports. We are open to non-traditional outputs.

Who can submit

Academics, professional staff and researchers.

What we publish

We publish proceedings from recurring conferences organised by and within the University of Edinburgh. We do not accept one-off conference proceedings.

Who can submit

Academics, professional staff, researchers and students.

What we publish

Student-led journals must meet the following criteria to ensure a smooth handover between outgoing student editors (as they graduate) and new incoming student editors. The journal:

  • must be affiliated with a specific course or society
  • must have an academic sponsor (your academic sponsor is a permanent member of staff involved with your course or society who has agreed to be an ambassador for the journal. They are unlikely to work on the journal itself but agree to facilitate editorial team changes when students are unable to do so themselves).

Who can submit

Students – including undergraduates, postgraduates and PhD level.
