Secure College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences purchase request form Purchase requests for teaching resources Providing students with access to resources to support teaching and learning is one of the Library’s core objectives. Access to Library resources for teaching will be provided through: Online Resource Lists for all appropriate courses Prioritisation of online access to Library resources for Essential and Recommended course readings Purchase of print copies where no suitable e-book licence is available The acquisition of online content, including eTextbooks where available, to provide access to key texts on a course Course Organisers must use their Resource List to request the acquisition of new resources to support teaching and these purchase request forms will only be used for items which are related to research or other non-teaching purposes. Resource List deadlines for 2024/25: Semester 1: Monday 1 July 2024 Semester 2 : Monday 21 October 2024 Update your Resource Lists and send them to the Library to review or to set up by the deadlines above to ensure materials for teaching are available to students for the start of each semester. If the Semester deadline has passed, you can still request new items for teaching using your Resource List. Requests received by the Semester deadlines will be prioritised. All other requests will be prioritised by date received. If you wish the Library to purchase additional teaching resources throughout the year, please add these to your Resource List and send your list for review. Help on how to use your Resource List to submit a purchase request. If you do not have a Resource List and would like the Library to set up a list for your courses, please send your list to the Library using the online form or contact Library.Learning@ed.ac.uk Privacy statement Information about you: how we use it and with whom we share it The information you provide will be used by the Library to progress your resource purchase request. We will use the supplied information to contact you should there be any queries or problems with your purchase request (e.g. items out of print/not available for purchase/not available in requested format). We will use your e-mail address to alert you once the requested item has been added to Library collections and is available for you to consult. We are using information about you because providing you with the requested necessary literature is part of our contractual obligation.
