Supporting transitions into University

The Library Academic Support team works with schools and University programmes to support prospective and new students to welcome them to the Library and develop their library skills.

Prospective Students

At University Open Days Academic Support Librarians offer a Library Welcome stall at the Main Library and the Murray Library, where we aim to answer questions from students and parents/carers about the Library and provide a self-guided tour. Libraries at other University sites may also be open for prospective students and their families to explore.

For online open days, Academic Support Librarians provide introductory presentations to the Library and question and answer sessions.

Please get in touch with the Academic Support Librarian for your subject area with any questions about library support for school students. We have limited capacity to support school student tours and workshops, and we encourage school students to attend University Open Days.
