A guide to photocopying, including information on copyright, digitisation and plagiarism. Access to photocopying facilities There are self-service photocopying facilities at most Library Sites. A touchpad terminal is available on most copiers, through which students and staff can access credit in their printing account to pay for copying with their University card. The Xerox multi-function printers (MFPs) in Libraries allow both registered University users and non-University members to photocopy. Multi function printers which allow photocopying can also be found in Open-Access Labs. Open-access cloud printer locations Payment for copying How to add to your print and copy credit via MyPrint Cost of printing and photocopying How to photocopy on open-access Xerox machines On the Xerox MFPs available at most Libraries, users can, after making sure they have their University card with them and enough credit in their printing/copying account, photocopy by doing the following: Press any button to leave the machine's Energysaver mode. Swipe your University card on the card reader next to the MFP. Press on 'Access device'. Press the 'Copy' button. If you are using one of the Mono (Black-and-White) MFPs, place the piece of paper you are copying on the right-hand-side of the platten (glass) as you face it before proceeding. If you are using one of the Colour MFPs, place your paper on the left-hand-side. Alter your copying settings as required and press the green button to copy. Finally, press the button beneath the key symbol in order to log out fully from the MFP. Photocopying for non-University members Photocopying facilities are available for non-University members.
