How do I find a journal?

If searching for a specific journal then just type the journal title into the search box on DiscoverEd.

Example:

You are looking for the British Journal of Surgery.

In the search box enter:

British journal of surgery

Click on the title of the journal to find out the location, shelfmark and issues held in print at the Library.

  • If there is an "Online access" or "Full Text available" link you can click on this to get access to the e-journal. This will tell you the years the Library has access to and provide links to the sites through which you can access the e-journal.
  • For some items we will have both the physical (print) copy and the e-journal. The brief record will indicate which libraries have the journal and whether there is online access.

Looking specifically for an e-journal?

You can use "JOURNALS SEARCH" to look for the journal.

Click on the "JOURNALS SEARCH" link on the top menu. You can browse the alphabetical list for the journal title or search for the journal title using the search box.

If the Library subscribes to the e-journal it will appear in this list.

  • Click the "Online access" link to get access to the e-journal. This will tell you the years the Library has access to and provide links to the sites through which you can access the e-journal.
  • For some items we will have both the physical (print) copy and the e-journal. The brief record will indicate which libraries have the journal and whether there is online access.
