Each October Black History Month celebrates and commemorates the history of the African and Caribbean communities and their diasporas. Black History Month Dissertation and Thesis Festival: November and March The Library's Dissertation and Thesis Festival brings together the support that the Library, Digital Skills and IAD provides for students undertaking their dissertations and theses. Join us for a programme of online and in-person events and learn what the Library can do for you to help you succeed with your dissertation or thesis. Dissertation and Thesis Festival Library dissertation guide Recordings and resources Knowledge Exchange Week 2024: May Following on from the success of our previous Knowledge Exchange Weeks, we are delighted to announce that the Library will be hosting our fifth Knowledge Exchange Week programme, which will run from 27th until 31st May 2024. The University of Edinburgh's Knowledge Exchange Week will provide a unique opportunity for library and cultural heritage professionals from all backgrounds and career stages to learn about the University's work in these areas and to share knowledge and best practice with colleagues globally. Knowledge Exchange Week 2024 Library Bitesize skills sessions: all year Library Bitesize sessions are presented by Academic Support Librarians in conjunction with the Digital Skills and Training team and are suitable for staff and students at all levels of study. They are short session of 30 minutes which introduce a range of topics including: How to use the Library How to reference and avoid plagiarism Ten top tips for finding academic literature Using Google Scholar for finding academic literature Information about the full range of Library Bitesize and other other sessions offered under Digital Skills and Training is on their webpages.
